While we renovate our Airstream, we’re camping in our Coleman Instant Cabin. We bought it last year and love how easy it is to set up and take down. One of us can have the tent opened up in less than five minutes and it’s stable enough that the kids can go inside while we stake it down. I never thought I’d want a huge tent, but with a family of four and a dog, I’m happy about the space. A wall comes with the tent so that you can have two rooms, and the windows are enormous and let in a lot of air.
Justin is about 6’2″ and can stand up straight.
Last year we went camping during a particularly rainy week with my parents and it was great to have space for four adults, two kids, and a dog. We were able to sit around in camping chairs comfortably and play cards while we waited for the storm to pass. (That is, until the winds picked up and trees began falling – but that’s a story for another time.)
We recently took a Lake Huron circle tour and stayed in our tent the majority of the time. My favorite part of the trip was staying at Widgawa Lodge. This is a time-lapse video of our last day when we had to take down the tent.
