My parents bought their first video camera when I was 5 years old. It was enormous. The thing came with a hard-sided suitcase and gave you lifelong back problems. It was a beast.
That said, it also gave me a love of home movies. Instead of sitting down to watch The Smurfs, I’d cuddle up on the couch and watch videos of my family camping, swimming, or hanging out with our friends.
Two years ago, I finally broke down and got myself a video camera. I was taking a lot of videos with my phone, but they were always short clips and I wanted more than that.
I opted for the JVC Everio Quad Proof HD Camera because it’s waterproof, dust proof, drop proof, and cold proof. We spend a lot of time at the beach and I love being able to not worry about getting the camera wet. It’s safe in depths of up to ten feet, so we take a lot of underwater videos with it as well.
This is the camera I used for the time lapse video and hopefully I’ll be posting more videos soon!
